TEAK WOOD FINISHES

INDOOR & OUTDOOR PRODUCTS

Batch-to-batch variation in shade may occur within commercial tolerance. Some options may be subject to minimum quantities.

We only use grade A and B grades of teak. Usage: Indoor Products and Outdoor Products. All furniture is v-legal certified and kiln-dried.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the fact that wood is a natural material, variations will occur. Each product can have different natural markings, textures, and natural colour variations. This is all considered normal and adds to the beauty of the products and is not considered a defect.

Clear Matt Finish: An acrylic clear matt protective finish is applied over the wood. Due to the natural differences, grains, natural colour variations, age, etc. of wood, the final colour will vary slightly. Composition: Acrylic.

Bleached Finish: A chemical is used to bleach the wood to a light finish.

Teak Oil Finish: Teak oil gives a mat finish and produces a slightly darker and richer tone than our Clear Matt Finish. Teak oil products require regular maintenance to maintain the same appearance. Composition: a mixture of linseed oil, tung oil, mineral oil, and solvents.

Recycled Finish: Paint is applied in layers and melted to create an “aged look” with a blowtorch. The finish can be applied all over the product or used to accent parts. This is a random finish, and no two items will look exactly the same. An acrylic clear matt protective top finish is applied.

Mid-Brown and Dark Brown Finishes: These finishes use translucent wood stains, and an acrylic clear matt protective top finish is applied.

Whitewash, Blackwash, and Greywash Finishes: These finishes are paint finishes applied by hand to the wood. No two items will look exactly the same. An acrylic clear matt protective top finish

Paint Finishes: We use acrylic paint, with an acrylic clear matt protective top finish

Teak wood  (Tectona grandisis)

A type of tropical hardwood known for its high oil content and durability.

The technical specifications of teak wood include its density, which ranges from 650 to 900 kg/m3, and its moisture content, which typically ranges from 6 to 10%.

Teak wood also has a high compressive strength and is resistant to insect attacks and decay. Its natural oils make it water-resistant and able to withstand exposure to the elements without needing to be treated.
