Suar wood (Tetroxylon robustum)

A popular wood species used in furniture, cabinetry, and flooring in Indonesia. It is known for its hardness, durability, and resistance to insects and decay.

The technical specifications of suar wood include its density, which ranges from 750 to 950 kg/m3, and its Janka hardness scale rating, which is at 1,250 to 1,300.

The wood also has a low moisture content, typically ranging from 6 to 8%. Suar wood is commonly recommended for its excellent stability and crack resistance, making it a suitable choice for various applications. However, large, thick table tops can be susceptible to splitting and cracking.
